Fall 2022 Velvet Hunt - Princeton, KY
First time in Kentucky hunting with Tadd for opening Bow velvet hunt. from the lodging to the hunting Tadd runs a first class operation. Lodging is second to none as it is set up for hunters with the comforts needed. The hunting was great for five days, with good winds and ample opportunity to connect on a mature whitetail. Tadd is very dedicated to ensuring the experience is great/ his guides do a great job/ and Miss Tina does not disappoint. booked for next year.

I saw 5 different shooters, all are 140” and above giants. I harvested a 132lb doe and had a blast. Why go to Ohio or Illinois when Tad Ladd Western Kentucky Whitetails is THE PREMIERE hunting destination for huge Whitetails. Had a great hunting experience at tad Ladd’s for the opening bow hunt, his crew and guides were professional and ready to put us on some big deer, Did not get the opportunity to shoot because of light but saw some really big bucks, they did pull out some really big deer on a 5 day hunt. Tad made sure that our stay was top notch and they were ready to make sure we had a good time and all the facilities we needed to succeed. November Bow Rut Hunt 2020 - Perrinton, Mi.
My cousin and I just returned from a 5 day Archery Rut Hunt with Tad Ladd. Although weather did cooperate (record high temps and winds) we saw amazing mature bucks daily. Tad is absolutely committed to providing a first class experience from the time you pull in to camp until the time you leave. I've been to Iowa multiple times and have not had the opportunities Tad provided in Western Kentucky. Tad's knowledge of creating deer habitat is incredible and will guarantee future large bucks! His management plan includes shooting Mature Bucks, and it works! We have booked with Tad again next year as this was the most incredible hunting experience ever!! Oh, and the food is incredible, thanks Tina!!!! See you all next year!!!
November Rut bow hunt 2020 - Indianapolis, IN
We had a 5 day hunt with very tough hunting conditions (80 degrees and SE winds the first 4 days) but still saw lots of action including 4+ year old shooters each day in bow range. Tad is a serious hunter and one of the best guys you’ll ever meet. The food (thank you Miss Tina!) was outstanding and the cabins are first class. We are booked for next year. You will not be disappointed in any aspect with Tad Ladd.

My law firm had a trial scheduled in a nearby county. The matter resolved and our trial team decided to keep the reservation and enjoy some time off. Seven of us stayed three nights and enjoyed every moment. This is not just a hunting lodge, but is a beautiful secluded venue, where groups can enjoy wildlife, fishing , campfires and wonderful meals together. Tad informed us of a local farmer who provided excellent steaks. The cleanliness was incredible and we will continue to frequent this amazing place!

We recently held our family reunion at Tadd Ladd West KY Whitetails. The facility was top notch! The cabins were very clean and the grounds were absolutely beautiful! There was more than enough room for our large family to spread out and be comfortable! We brought kayaks, canoes and floats to enjoy on the lake. We are also able to enjoy nice hikes through the trails, coffee on the deck to watch the deer and time around the fire pit at night. I encourage every deer hunter to book with Tad Ladd West Kentucky Whitetails. My first hunting experience there was during the 2015 velvet bowhunt, and it certainly will not be the last. Tad and his crew are passionate, not only about growing big bucks, but also for the health of the entire herd. Through their year-round management practices, they’ve created a setting that provides everything the deer need. The property has rolling terrain with mature timbers, dense thickets, abundant agricultural fields (many which will NOT be harvested), strategically placed and custom shaped food plots, mineral sites, water sources, and more features. Tad’s team is respectful, hard-working and willing to serve in whatever way possible. Your success is top priority.
The hunting setups were well planned. Paths to and from stands were cleared and clearly marked, which made for quiet access. Plus the treestands were very comfortable. In fact, all but one hunter in camp with me encountered or harvested a trophy buck.
The lodging and food were both fantastic. I loved that the dining hall is a separate building from the sleeping quarters. This enabled us to go afield without smelling like a Waffle House or burger joint. I’ve hunted with many outfitters across the U.S. and learned that a successful hunt is not measured solely by taking a nice deer, but by the many memories and new friends you make along the way.

Our group does a late season hunt every year. We have hunted with several outfitters in Kentucky and Illinois, and Tad Ladd's operation is by far the best! The lodging was clean, comfortable, and well thought out for hunters. The food was great and always ready at the end of the hunts and served by Ms. Renee with a huge smile. Whatever we needed she took care of. If we wanted certain items for breakfast or dinner she would accommodate our requests.
Craig was my guide and he was a real pleasure to be with. He was enthusiastic about our hunts and worked tirelessly to make sure we were comfortable. He made sure all the little details were covered like making sure we had bow holders and hot hands for the cold mornings. You could tell that the stand placement was the result of diligent scouting. The actual stands were comfortable, safe, and easy to get in and out of. From a safety stand point Tad has a lifeline system on every stand. How other outfitters get away without having these is beyond me. This huge detail shows the commitment to excellence Tad offers. If you want a mid rate hunt with dangerous stands and grumpy guides go to another outfitter, if you want to hunt with someone who truly cares about your hunt call Tad.
On top of all the comfort and care Tad offers, they also have some of the most beautiful property you will ever hunt. We saw a ton of deer. Not just a few here and there, but hunts with sightings of 20-40 deer. The number of young bucks just a year away from being trophies is amazing. I can only imagine how great the hunting will be next year, that's why we are already booked.

Funny, I return home and people ask me how was my trip and I say absolutely wonderful. "What did you kill?" and I say nothing and they just walk away scratching their head. We knocked on that door (Boone & Crockett) three times during our stay and had many encounters with good deer particularly later in the week. As you know my goal in switching to Western Kentucky from Kansas was to establish my group with someone with the same passion in not only arrowing a good deer but with interest in improving our approach/surroundings yearly. Also you and I know that in real life "Booners" don't fall out of the sky like they seem to on The Outdoor Channel and it's simply a result of improving habitat, harvesting wisely, feeding them well and offering very limited pressure. I can not even begin to tell you how obvious it was to us all the effort you and your team made with such a short window, always with an incredible eye for detail. When you realize that outfitters and hunters share in the responsibility of harvesting these mature deer everything should improve every year (Good Lord willing). Many thanks my friend to you Tyler, Tim, Dylan and all those that worked their butts off to make our stay wonderful, which it was.

It is easy to write a favorable review after shooting your dream buck. I did not get to shoot my dream buck but Tad and his guides never quit trying to put you on your dream buck. That effort and then add great southern style food prepared by Renee and all new accommodations, need I say more? Tad puts a lot of time into stand locations, providing you with great opportunities for a fair chase dream buck. Maybe I got lucky but after a day in camp, the staff and other hunters all became family. Four hunters out of ten got their dream bucks and most of use did see one.You need to be patient; I passed on a 10pt. and two 8pts. in the mid 130's because they where only 3 1/2 years old. Best fair chase opportunity for a trophy whitetail in the East!

I showed up at Tad Ladd's Western Kentucky White Tail and was immediately impressed with the accommodations, guides, meals and organization. Having never been to an outfitter, I didn't really know what to expect. It became very obvious that all I had to worry about was hunting. Tad's guides ensured that no matter the weather or wind his guides were going to put his clients in the best possible position to harvest some of Kentucky's finest deer. The stand placement was phenomenal and the properties were beautiful. The amount of work Tad and his crew do in the off season is amazing. It was everything you could ask for in a fair chase hunting experience. In the end, I did harvest my first buck. I made an ethical shot with my bow at 18yds. Tad's guides walked me through the field dressing process, which I requested. The deer meat is in my freezer and my family is enjoying it weekly. My experience at Tad Ladd's was more than harvesting a Kentucky white tail deer; it was an important and satisfying learning experience that only has fueled my passion for hunting. I am very grateful for all the knowledge Tad and his guides shared with me that week. I hope to hunt with them again in the near future.

I wanted to thank you for your hospitality this past hunt. I believe I said it once and I will say it again. First Class! The lodging, hunting, food and the attitude of everyone around that weekend was awesome. From the moment you arrive, you can see the passion and dedication they have to offer you for that unforgettable experience. This same passion and dedication carried into the woods with their knowledge of the land and deer herd. Each stand was in the right location with easy access to and from. The stands were safe and secure and each had their own life line. Did I mention they were comfortable! And let me say, he has the deer. I had multiple encounters with bucks on every sit including the last evening in which I had 40+ deer in the field and around me with 9 bucks. From the beds more comfortable than in a five star hotel, to the top of the line stands placed in ideal locations for every wind direction, Tad has planned everything with the excellence in mind! Having hunted with outfitters before, I have never seen a more complete operation. It is obvious that Tad Ladd knows deer management, resource management, and how to parlay those elements into hunter success.
As for my 2015 hunt, we experienced the struggles of the “October lull”. Although I saw a lot of deer which included more small bucks than does, the big boys just didn’t want to cooperate. Tad was sincerely concerned with everyone’s success, and more than anything he was convicted about his stand choices, not simply putting hunters out just to get them in the field. On the last evening the weather changed, and so did the shooter movement! Five hunters had shooter harvest opportunities, but only one closed the deal. Tad’s knowledge and convictions paid off, and he delivered what he was committed to do. I will be back next year, knowing that Tad Ladd’s West Kentucky Whitetails will deliver everything that I could ever hope for in a premier whitetail outfitter.

I have been bow hunting religiously for about 10 years. I have hunted Western Kentucky during the late season for the past 6 years. I have had some great hunts in Kentucky, and have always seen lots of does and young bucks, with the occasional shooter (140 class). This past January was the first year that I hunted with Tad as my guide. Right from our first meeting, I could tell Tad knew the land and knew how to guide hunters. Tad was very open and honest with our group, and was genuinely interested in putting us on some big deer. As a result of his scouting and recommendations, I had nine encounters with shooter bucks, including one encounter with a 180 class buck during some rough, rough conditions. I was so impressed with not only his knowledge of the land, but his love for bow hunting and his willingness to give us a good experience, that I have booked a late season bow hunt with Tad for this next year. To any hunter wanting to hunt with a great guide and to have a tremendous experience, I highly recommend hunting with Tad.
